CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Altznauer called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Brandie Owens and Adam Beckstine were present. Council member Tony Sells was absent.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Bruce Altznauer called for and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Brandie Owens made motion to approve the minutes of the July 18, 2023, regular meeting as submitted. Adam Beckstine seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried. Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the minutes of the August 8, 2023, public hearing as submitted. Adam Beckstine seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

APPROVAL OF ALCOHOL LICENSE – DAVID BRYCE WILKERSON

Mayor Altznauer stated that an alcohol license application had been submitted by David Bryce Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson was present and informed the Council that he was in the process of purchasing Rutledge Liquor. Debbie Kilgore advised the Council that most of the requirements for the license had been met except for the payment and bond. Brandie Owens made motion to approve the alcohol license contingent on the completion of all paperwork and payment. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

DISCUSSION OF EQUIPMENT – VFW

Mayor Altznauer advised the council about meeting with VFW representative Tom Johnson regarding looking for a piece of equipment for Veteran’s Park. He said they wanted to get a Howitzer and have been put on a nationwide list but do not know when they will get it. It will require a 10 X 16 concrete pad, fence and a sign. They asked that we do our part and keep kids off. It will be placed between the memorial and the tennis court. Brandie Owens made motion to approve the request for military equipment to be placed at Veteran’s Park by the VFW. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

BUDGET AMENDMENT – LMIG REVENUE

Debbie Kilgore advised the council the amount of revenue budgeted for the LMIG grant was incorrect and should have been $20,477.50, an increase of $1,325.50. She said she would amend seasonal items by the same amount in the expenses to keep the budget balanced. Brandie Owens made motion to approve the general fund budget amendment of $1,325.50.

Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

UPDATE – PICKLE BALL COURT

Mayor Altznauer informed the council that the contractor has started on the project. It has been pressure washed, they are now working on the cracks in the asphalt and the net is up between the two courts.

Brandie Owens made motion to adjourn at 6:12 pm. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
