CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Altznauer called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Tony Sells, Brandie Owens and Adam Beckstine were present as were members of the public.

AGENDA AMENDMENT

Brenda Thompson made motion to amend the agenda to add business license approval. Adam Beckstine seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the minutes of the May 17th meeting as submitted. Brandie Owens seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

APPROVAL OF BUSINESS LICENSE

Mayor Altznauer stated that the business license approval is for Ruby’s of Rutledge. He said she would like to be open by July 4th. Brenda Thompson asked which building the business be going into. Mayor Altznauer said it is the middle building on East Main, the address is 106 East Main Street. Brandie Owens stated that she needed some clarification. Mayor Altznauer advised that the City will call her and see if she can come to the meeting on the 28th. The city clerk said she will call her and give her the council’s email addresses.

APPROVAL – GA POWER LIGHTING AGREEMENT – PARKING LOT

Mayor Altznauer said the Georgia Power agreement is for four lights for the new parking lot and two for East Main Street. He said the agreement states we will send a pre-payment of $11,000.00. Adam Beckstine made motion to approve the Georgia Power Service Agreement. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

APPROVAL TO CONTINUE TSPLOST

Mayor Altznauer advised the council the TSPLOST will not be up until next year. The county manager wants to make sure there is no opposition and be sure the council backs it. Tony Sells made motion to approve the continuation of TSPLOST. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

INCREASE – LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX

Mayor Altznauer advised the council the local option sales tax percentage had changed from 4.00 % to 4.33 %. He said the LOST percentage is based on population. He said state law requires renegotiation of the percentages every ten years. Tony Sells made motion to authorize the Mayor the sign agreement for the Local Option Sales Tax. Adam Beckstine seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

Brenda Thompson made motion to adjourn at 7:07 pm. Adam Beckstine seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
