CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Bruce Altznauer called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Tim Smith and Brandie Owens were present as were members of the public. Council Member Tony Sells was absent.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Altznauer called for and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Tim Smith made motion to approve the minutes of the November 20th regular meeting as submitted. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

BUSINESS LICENSE APPROVAL – JAMES W. DUKES

Business license application was withdrawn before the meeting.

ALCOHOL LICENSE RENEWALS

Mayor Altznauer advised the Council that there were three license renewals and one new license. We will need a motion for each one. City Clerk Debbie Kilgore advised that in their motion make it contingent that all the paper work is complete.

Rutledge Wings / Greg Sherrill application for pouring Beer/Wine, Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the license with the stipulation all paperwork is received and in order. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried. Ramko LLC d/b/a Rutledge Liquor / Sagar Patel application for Distilled Spirits, Tim Smith made motion to approve the license with the stipulation all paperwork is turned in and in order. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried. Sean Marketing, LLC / Karim H. Ali application for Beer/Wine retail sales, Tim Smith made motion to approve the license contingent on all paperwork being turned in and in order. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

Debbie Kilgore advised the Council the new application is for the same address as Sean Marketing at 148 Atlanta Hwy. Mr. Tahir Nasir Khan is planning on leasing from Karim Ali and had to apply for his license, although his can’t be approved until Mr. Ali surrenders his back to the City. RTSN Enterprises, Inc. / Tahir Nasir Khan application for beer and wine retail sales, Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the license upon surrender of Karim Ali’s license and with the stipulation that all paperwork is complete and in order. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

PARK NAME REQUEST – NEIL FITZGERALD

Mayor Altznauer stated that Neil could not be here and he would present it for him. He advised the Council that the VFW was now in the Fire Department on Fairplay. They have their sign up and it looks good. They have requested to rename the park from Playfair Park to Veterans Park. He said they will make some improvements and also talking about installing the signage. Georgia Forestry said that they would give grants for trees for any Veteran’s Park. Brandie Owens made motion to rename Playfair Park to Veterans Park and allow them to make improvements. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

EXECUTIVE SESSION – LAND ACQUISITION

Brenda Thompson made motion to exit regular session for the purpose of entering executive session. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried. Brenda Thompson made motion to exit executive session and enter back into regular session. Brandie Owens seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

Brenda Thompson made motion to accept the land donation from Kyle Ward formally known as Orchard Subdivision located on Williams Street contingent on title search and environmental assessment. Brandie Owens seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

Brenda Thompson made motion to adjourn at 7:28 pm. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
