CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Bruce Altznauer called to order the public hearing of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Tim Smith and Brandie Owens were present as were members of the public. Council member Tony Sells was absent.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Altznauer called for and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Brenda Thompson made motion that the minutes of the June 19, 2018 meeting be approved as submitted. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

INTRODUCTION OF WATER / SEWER OPERATOR

Mayor Altznauer advised the council that Ricky Blevins would now be the City’s certified operator taking care of Rutledge’s water and waste water. He said we have been contracting with him doing our water and sewer taps. We had a meeting and he outlined what he expected out of our guys and us of him. Tomorrow we will be meeting with Marty Boyd the city’s engineer. He said we would just like to say welcome aboard.

REVIEW OF FY 2018 /2019 BUDGET

City clerk Debbie Kilgore went over the line items of the FY 2018/2019 budgets and answered any questions the council had. She advised the council that the line item for tank maintenance had increased due to adding the Fears Road tank to the maintenance program. Mayor Altznauer advised the council that we changed from using Utility Service to American Tank Maintenance due to the fact that there was more than a $10,000.00 difference in the quotes.

CITIZEN INPUT

Mayor Altznauer called for any citizen input or questions on the budget. Mr. Zack Pace was present and asked about the money budgeted for the traffic engineer. He said if all he was going to do was a traffic count it would not be helpful. The clerk advised him that it would be more information than that. Mr. Pace also asked about the tree limbs needing to be trimmed. She advised that there was a line item for tree work. Mayor Altznauer asked if there were any more questions or input from the public regarding the budget. There was none.

APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION TO ADOPT FY 2018 /2019 BUDGET

Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the Resolution to Adopt the City of Rutledge Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

Brenda Thompson made motion to adjourn the Public Hearing at 7:28PM. Tim Smith seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
